River Mice June Paddles- NEWSLETTER INCORRECT!!

MOGUL RIVER MICE
JUNE PADDLES

Somehow, the newsletter got some bum information. Here is the real scoop on the River Mice paddles for June.

As with all Mice paddles, email Jeff if you are going. If we know you are coming, we’ll wait for you. If not, we won’t. Times may change for tides or particpation. Also, keep checking your email and this blog for other impromptu paddles. We're always trying to get out on the water!

June 5 Sunday (time may be TBA)
Lynnhaven Inlet Paddle
Time: 11:00am
This paddle is always a favorite. Put in is at the Lynnhaven Boat Ramp on the west side of the Lesner Bridge. We paddle around some kayak-friendly areas in Lynnhaven Bay, then head over to Bubbas for a snack and beverage before returning to the boat ramp. This paddle is suitable for all but the raw beginner- crossing the channels can be a little tricky.

June 21 (Tuesday)
Summer Solstice Paddle at Owl’s Creek
Time: 6:00pm
Put in at the Owl’s Creek Boat Ramp on General Booth Boulevard in Virginia Beach. Celebrate the longest day of the year with a relaxing paddle behind the Marine Science Museum. We will stop at one of the Rudee Inlet eateries for a snack and beverage before paddling back to take-out. This paddle always has good wildlife, and is great for beginners.

June 25 or 26 (Sat or Sun)
Munden Point to West Neck- VB Scenic Waterway
Time: 10:00am
This year, the River Mice are going to try to paddle the length of the Virginia Beach Scenic Waterway- from Munden Park to Lynnhaven Inlet. The first step is this one, on the North Landing River and West Neck Creek. It is about 8 miles for the whole paddle, or about 3-1/2 miles to the Pungo Ferry Bridge. You will need to have some paddling experience, as we may be dealing with boat wakes on the river, and about 3-4 hours of paddling. The Pungo Ferry option is available for those who don’t want to go the whole way.

Jeff,

The "summer solstice" paddel sounds like fun - I've never been out after sunset before. Count me in!
